Session Notes
Returning back to the ruby sword scene in order to make the scene look more aesthetically intriguing I decided to create more objects such as a table, chair and apply a basic castle wall brick texture to my backdrop. (figure a)
Moreover, I used a sphere polygon as a makeshift skybox which would display a texture and completely surround the scene within the sphere object. Also I will make use of skyboxes for my other scenes such as the nomad and crystal angel scenes which require an immersive background image.
In addition, I decided to remove all of my existing lights for the Ruby Sword scene and use most area lights instead since they provide a more realistic form of light where each colour spreads around the room and the colours bleed into one another as shown in figure b.
I am personally excited by how each one of these small scenes in Maya has slowly improved as my knowledge and exuberance of lighting and texturing increases.
